Mallorca is situated in the eastern part of the Spanish mainland and has over 550 km coastline, which makes it the biggest Balearic Island. The capital is Palma de Mallorca. The main languages of Mallorca are Catalan and Spanish. Mallorca has 53 municipalities, which are called municipis.

Clime

The Island has a subtropical clime with an average of 8 hours of sun per day. Due to the situation of the Island the winter is mild and short. During the summer months however it does not rain much. The temperature in the middle of the Island can rise up to 40° C.
